He was truly scary in that scene, menacing like the original Barnabas could be. He even spoke a line from the old series about not being good nor forgiving. It was chill-bump inducing. As for your interpretation: I simply LOVE it! It is every bit as creepy and gets the point across. There is no sparkle in this vampire! He's deadly serious when he presumes he's been crossed. Wonderful coloration and use of line.
